Information on mobile communication systems has been systematized. A wide range of issues is considered - from the theoretical foundations of speech coding and radio wave propagation to the construction of mobile radio communication systems in conjunction with the concept of interaction of open systems. Information is provided on paging and trunking systems, cordless telephony, satellite and cellular communication systems of various standards, wireless local area networks (WLAN), smart antennas. Generalized structural diagrams of various SPS, issues of organization of physical and logical channels are considered. For scientific and engineering workers dealing with mobile communications, it will be useful for students and graduate students of relevant specialties.
