The reference book discusses self-aligning mechanisms (mechanisms without excessive connections), provides structural diagrams of articulated-lever, gear, cam and other mechanisms and sets out the basics of their design. Such mechanisms make it possible to expand manufacturing tolerances, reduce the cost of production and increase reliability. An analysis of incorrect mechanism designs is given, methods for their correction are described, it is indicated which kinematic pairs should be used in specific mechanisms.
