"Essays on the History of Astronomy in Russia" are designed to fill the gap in our literature - the absence of a book covering the history of Russian astronomy. This book is not a detailed history of domestic astronomy in general. It is designed not only for specialist astronomers, but also for a wider range of readers. Covering astrometric and astronomical-mathematical works in their entirety would make the book less accessible to non-specialist readers.
