The collection contains archival documents, as well as periodical press materials, ethnographic and statistical-demographic information characterizing the peasant life and everyday life of a Karelian woman in a pre-revolutionary village. Sources reflect the impact of changes in Russian society on the polished way of the family for centuries, show a gradual shift in the initially polarized male and female roles, and a change in the behavior patterns of men and women.
