Vadim Kozhevnikov's novel "Shield and Sword" reproduces the heroic work of a Soviet intelligence officer operating outside our homeland, associated with constant danger to life. The events reflected in the novel develop in the late thirties in the Baltic states, then in Poland and in Nazi Germany during the Great Patriotic War.
