The study presents the activities of the Academy of Sciences on the scientific development of the Northeast for almost two centuries. A large complex of various documents in Russian, German, English was identified, their content, evolution, continuity were analyzed. The formation of natural-scientific knowledge about the region is shown, ideas about the historical and ethnographic heritage of the indigenous population, its role in the development of the region are expanded. The book is designed for historians, source scholars, cultural scientists.
