The book consists of three parts: the first part discusses design techniques for increasing the durability of rubbing machine parts. Information is given on materials used for manufacture of friction assemblies of machines and their combination in friction pairs, gaps in joints, rigidity and compliance of movable parts, methods of lubricant supply to friction surface, evaluation and selection of basic scheme of friction assemblies and machine as a whole from the point of view of its influence on wear resistance and reliability of structure.
