General principles of organization of remote sensing systems of the Earth from space, classification of such systems, their purpose and solved problems are considered. Much attention is paid to charge-coupled devices, which are the main elements of household appliances. The characteristics of domestic and foreign spacecraft performing the functions of remote sensing are given.
