The book of American General Graves, the former commander of the United States Army, who took part in the allied intervention in Siberia, is of exceptional interest in the sense that it reveals the main motives for the intervention in Siberia, the interweaving of the conflicting interests of the largest imperialist states that took part in the intervention. Of particular interest is the identification of the role of Japan, its plans in the Far East, the ties of the Japanese military command with the Russian White Guard in Siberia and the Far East. In the description of the White Guard, its leaders - Kolchak, Semenov, Kalmykov, their bloody deeds, the author claims a certain objectivity.
