The monograph of Doctor of Historical Sciences S. L. Utchenko, one of the largest specialists in the field of ancient history, tells about the outstanding military and political figure of Ancient Rome, Julia Caesar. His life and work are shown in close connection with the historical situation. In scientific research, attempts to mythologize Caesar's personality characteristic of bourgeois historiography are convincingly refuted.
