The book of the orientalist and journalist A.M. Vasiliev details the difficult situation in the Persian Gulf zone; the development of events in the countries of the Arabian Peninsula, the significance of the collapse of the Shah regime in Iran, the organic relationship of oil problems and world politics were studied. Much attention is paid to the analysis of the US course aimed at plundering raw materials in the Persian Gulf zone, in order to establish its military presence there.
