Basic information on the nature of soils is presented, physical, chemical and mechanical properties, classification and design indicators of soils are considered. Analysis of basic regularities of soil mechanics and distribution of stresses and deformations in soils and their changes in time is given. Particular attention is paid to the main provisions of the calculation apparatus and calculation schemes.
