The textbook discusses general problems of source study - its goals and objectives, place in a number of other disciplines, types and types of sources. A review of the sources is given on a regional basis: sources on the history of Ancient Egypt, Asia Minor, Iran and Central Asia, the countries of the Far East and Southeast Asia in antiquity. Monuments of material culture, written documents, works of oral creativity are analyzed.
