A brief overview of the main physical theories on the basis of which the theory of nuclear reactors is based. Nuclear reactor physics is considered as applied low-energy nuclear physics. Nuclear forces and nuclear interactions, the properties of atomic nuclei, the main types of radioactivity, the characteristics of the interaction of radiation with matter are also considered.
