The book-album prepared by the Institute of Russian Civilization for the first time in Russian art history shows the main stages of the development of Russian Orthodox-national art of the XIX - early. XX century, its creators and patrons. Continuing and developing the artistic traditions of Ancient Russia, Orthodox-national art of this era expressed the rise of the Russian national spirit and patriotism. It carried not only a purely religious theme of God's temples and icons, but also revealed the bright soul of a Russian person living the ideals of Holy Russia - the continuity of faith and life, good will, hard work, non-possessiveness and collegiality.
