Translation by Prince Whittaker and Robinson's "Mathematical Processing of Observations" was made from the latest edition of the English book Whit-taker and Robinson "The calculus of observations," by the staff of the Section of Applied Mathematics of the State Optical Institute, edited by corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences prof. N. M. Gunther.
