The book of Fr. Olivier Rousseau is dedicated to the liturgical revival in the Catholic Church (the review covers the first stage of the movement - from the middle of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century). Although this phenomenon is practically unknown in the East, it seems very consonant with the Orthodox worldview. Deep love for worship is the heart of the Church, keen attention to its traditions, subtle and intelligible hermeneutics of Tradition, reverence for the patristic heritage are the main features of the liturgical movement in the West. All this could not but arouse the interest of his figures in the worship of the "ancient and modern East," to which the author devotes a separate chapter.
