The name of Zaven Arshakuni is associated with the Leningrad school of painting. He is considered one of the brightest representatives of the "second avant-garde." Along with G. Egoshin, V. Tyulenev and other "sixties," he became a member of the liberal "Group of Eleven," striving to search for the "substance of art." It was in the 1970s that recognition came to Zaven Arshakuni.
