OVSYANIKO-KULIKOVSKY Dmitry Nikolaevich - Russian linguist and literary critic, honorary member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (1917; Honorary Member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences since 1907). He studied the problems of the theory and psychology of creativity, the syntax of the Russian language. In his main linguistic work, "The Syntax of the Russian Language" (1902), A. A. Potebni (Kharkov Linguistic School) was a follower of psychologism. He developed the concept of syntactic form, the main way of manifestation of which he considered grammatical tradition ("predictability"). He considered syntax a central component of grammar, building text analysis in the direction "from sentence to sounds."
