Moonshine - a product of distillation of weak alcohol-containing liquids - became widespread in Russia in the XV-XVI centuries. Over the centuries, a huge variety of recipes appeared, the taste of manufactured moonshine was improved. However, all this great many folk recipes boil down to a triune combination: yeast, sugar and water.
