This edition of I.V. Goethe's Selected Philosophical Works includes the main works characterizing the philosophical views of the great German poet and thinker. The book contains works by Goethe covering both general and socially philosophical issues. The publication includes not only finished works, but also numerous fragments from various works of Goethe, of exceptional interest. The book, as a rule, maintains a chronological principle, with some exceptions. In the form of an appendix, Goethe's famous poem "Prometheus" is given, full of humanistic meaning, the most important philosophical fragments from both parts of "Faust" and philosophical lyrics. The introductory article and comments were written by G. A. Kursanov. He is also the editor of the publication together with A.V. Gulygo.
