Electric currents in the ground, which are obtained on the lines of electric roads and flow along their own paths, were considered "wandering" in electrical engineering a few years ago; their influence was taken into account only in a few cases in constructive calculations. With the construction of high-voltage overhead lines, the situation has changed: along with numerous weak currents, strong currents penetrate into the ground, and the previously unlimited space for currents is now decreasing due to increasing operating requirements; instead of the existing wide possibilities in the use of land, a certain limitation should now come.
