"Memories of the innermost" - the last book of Georges Simenon is a "confession novel" about the life and work of one of the most famous writers of the 20th century, whose works have been translated into many languages ​ ​ of the world. In 1978, Simenon experienced a terrible tragedy - the suicide of his daughter Marie-Jo. At the same time, his second wife released the book "Birds for a Cat," where she wrote about the "dissolute and vicious nature" of her ex-husband. Both of these events immediately became the central topic for the "yellow press," which was not shy in the most unflattering epithets.
