The book examines the theoretical foundations of the deployment of troops in the area, hostilities and the organization of the march. A significant place is given to the march in anticipation of a collision with the enemy and conducting a counter battle. The peculiarities of solving these issues in the mountains, deserts and northern regions are shown. The work was developed taking into account the development of means of armed struggle, tactics and organization of troops, as well as the experience of the Soviet Army and foreign armies in the last war and in the post-war period.
