Alexiada is one of the most important monuments of historical literature in Byzantium. Written by the Byzantine princess, daughter of Emperor Alexei Komnin. "Alexiada" is the life story of Alexei Komnin, covering the period from 1056 to 1118. Although in general, "Alexiad" is historical in nature, it is not limited to describing facts, representing a literary monument. Anna Komnin was an eyewitness to many of the events described, among the characters in the story are her closest relatives, which determines both the liveliness and emotionality of the presentation, and some of its partiality. The Alexiad describes the events of the First Crusade, as well as characterizing the main leaders of the crusaders, Bogomil heresy, etc.
