The book describes selective telephone communication systems used in railway transport, sets out the principles of their operation; data on the main devices used in special devices of this type of communication are given; schemes and designs of equipment of train dispatching, station and other types of operational-technological separation communication with selector and tonal selective calls, road administrative communication, main, road and separation communication of meetings are described; methods of designing and calculating selective communication circuits and the procedure for maintaining individual devices are given. The second edition takes into account the changes that have occurred in selective telephone communication in recent years due to a significant reduction in the operation of equipment with a selector call, as well as caused by the improvement of equipment with a tonal selective call. The first edition was published in 1976. The book was approved by the Main Directorate of Educational Institutions of the Ministry of Railways as a textbook for technical schools of railway transport.
