Landmark work in the development of thought in the medieval Muslim East, dedicated to the controversy of the outstanding thinker and theologian Abu Hamid al-Ghazali (1058-1111), who defended the position of Islamic orthodoxy, with followers of Aristotelianism and Neoplatonism. Having studied in detail the systems of views of philosophical schools (al-falsaf), the author uses the logical methods of his own opponents and, in the form of a dispute, criticizes unreasonable attempts to adapt the searches of philosophers to the doctrines of Islam. This makes "The Collapse of Philosophers" the most valuable source on the history of philosophy and an outstanding monument of medieval Muslim culture.
