The book of the Catholic priest, which is essentially the first history of all Slavic peoples, may well claim to be the most sensational book of the century. It was first published in 1601 in Italy, and a series of scandals related to it immediately followed. Traditional history took up arms against the book, followed by the Catholic Church.
