The frivolous Prince Yalan Kendet, one of the many grandchildren of the Red Queen, the powerful ruler of the Red Mark, became famous as an avid gambler, seducer of women and a lover of wine. Devoid of ambition, he was quite content with his life, however, in the midst of war, when hordes of evil spirits led by the Dead King gain strength, it is difficult to stay away. In addition, fate played a cruel joke with the prince: the Silent Sister, the main assistant of the Red Queen, tied Yalan with a witchcraft bond with the mighty Viking Snorri, who, by chance, ended up in the Red Mark. Together with a comrade in misfortune, the prince is forced to recover to the North, to the homeland of Snorri, and this journey, full of dangers and unexpected meetings, will bring him many unpleasant discoveries.
