All the plots of the ninth issue of the almanac are connected in one way or another with Russian history. The first section examines several characteristic examples of the difficulties experienced by historians in understanding events and figures of thought related to Kievan Rus. The second deals with various kinds of ethnic minorities and problems in their relationship with dominant communities.
