In the pantheon of outstanding commanders of our Fatherland, Prince Pyotr Ivanovich Bagration occupies one of the places of honor. A descendant of the ancient Georgian kings, a favorite student of Suvorov, he was a participant in all the major wars of his time, became famous in many campaigns and died from the wound received in the battle of Borodino, never surviving the abandonment of Moscow.
