The monograph analyzes the discussions that took place in Soviet science in the middle of the 20th century (philosophy, biology, linguistics, physiology of higher nervous activity, chemistry, political economy), considers the relationship between science and ideology in them. The line "center - region" is traced, which makes it possible to identify the specifics of discussions in various conditions. Conceptual analysis is complemented by event-specific and personal approach.
