The proposed publication is the result of many years of work of outstanding domestic indologists. The publication is an extensive (about 4500) collection of proverbs that exist in the northern states of India - Hariana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, etc. The collection is based on dictionaries of proverbs published directly in India since the end of the 19th century, and also includes material collected by the compilers themselves. Proverbs in the collection are given both in the original (in Devanagari graphics) and in translation.
