Konyushennaya Square and Malaya Konyushennaya Street have a three-century history. The fates of many prominent people are connected with them, Germans, Swedes, Finns and Norwegians lived here side by side with the Russians. Famous architects from N.F. Gerbel to F.I. Lidval participated in the creation of the architectural ensemble of the square and the street. It owes its origin and name to the Court stables and Stables Square, so the book opens with an essay dedicated to them.
