The articles of the collection prepared by the Department of General History of Volgograd University explore the patterns of cultural and historical development of ancient and medieval societies of the Lower Volga region from the beginning of the metal era to the formation of the state based on the analysis of monuments of material culture, and from the early Iron Age - and written sources.
