The monograph examines the names of diplomatic commissioners attested in Russian writing of the 11th-17th centuries. This terminology can be traced in the formation, development, correlation with specific historical facts reflecting the development of diplomacy of ancient Russia, the period of feudal fragmentation, the formation and strengthening of the Russian state.
