In the second edition of the book, in addition to the history of the emergence of the system of concentration labor camps and the memoirs of victims of political repression, the sections "Dispossession" and "Persecution of the Orthodox Church" were included, which show the reader from which strata of the people replenished the camps in place of hundreds of thousands and millions of people who died in the Gulag.
