A special position in the Red Army of the early 1930s began to be occupied by the nascent anti-tank artillery, then represented by 37-mm guns of the 1930 model and the 45-mm model of 1932. She needed high maneuverability (not inferior to tanks) when changing positions, often under enemy machine-gun fire. Here horse traction, with all due respect to her then in the Red Army, was no longer suitable. We needed a light small-sized tracked tractor that fully met the specifics of its use.
