The story of Vladimir Vladko "Purple Death" (Fіoletova Bend, 1963) takes place in the US state of Idaho, where three friends from their student days decided to relax in silence and in the wilderness of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Clyde Talbot, clerk of an insurance firm, advertising agent Fred Stapleton and car mechanic James Marchi, nicknamed Shorty, wanted to fish, hunt and have fun with their will, but their vacation turned into a real practical study. The fact is that near the river James and Clyde found an unusual black stone, which turned out to be... meteorite! But that's not all.
