It took nine long months to liberate the territory of Poland by the Red Army. 600 thousand Soviet soldiers laid down their heads in this country. The final stage of the war was given a heavy price. Stanislav Gorsky is one of the ordinary participants in these battles. On his self-propelled gun SU-76 he walked hundreds of kilometers through Poland. The enemy never retreated without a fight. Light, maneuverable SU-76 proved to be excellent in the last months of the war - during urban battles and the pursuit of a retreating enemy, ambush operations. At the same time, as shown in the book, self-propelled guns very often performed the unusual task of directly escorting infantry in battle. SU-76 coped with all this brilliantly. But maneuverability was achieved due to very weak armor. Self-propelled guns suffered considerable losses, paying with their lives for the common cause of victory.
