Basic principles of design of machine units and parts, calculations that allow to determine the required dimensions of units and parts of machines of general machine-building use. Recommendations for design and installation are accompanied by an analysis of the working conditions of parts in machines. Modern laser devices developed by SKF (Sweden) are considered for accurate measurement of shaft misalignments of connected units in machines and for alignment of pulleys of V-belt gears. Design and method of selection of universal supplied support allowing errors of mutual position of housings along axis normal to contact surface and angular mutual displacement of connected surfaces are described. Guidelines for execution of drawings of standard parts of machines and assembly units, rules for execution of training design documentation are given. Analysis of the results of calculation of computer transmissions and recommendations for choosing the best option for structural study are presented; some changes in the methods of calculating gears, rolling bearings, the design of body parts, etc. are taken into account.
