This work is intended to provide the necessary information on aerostat materials for mechanical engineers and practitioners working in the field of aeronautics. The work is not designed for specialists in textile and rubber production, therefore, information in this area is given in a summary sufficient for mechanical engineers. The development of domestic balloon materials cannot be considered in isolation from the development of aeronautics as a whole, a summary of which is given below.
