The action of the novel "The Kingdom of Agamemnon" does not take place in antiquity - the narrative covers the 20th century and reaches the present day - but in many ways it is a cast of classical tragedy, and the main characters feel like heroes of ancient Greek myth. The hero-storyteller Gleb is preparing for the publication of the works of Nikolai Zhestovsky - a philosopher and monk, he spent many years in camps and described his life in a manuscript that disappeared in the Lubyanka. Gleb gets access to the archives of the NKVD-KGB and at the same time the possibility of hours of conversations with his daughter. Zhestovsky's fate and the story of his family become the basis of the story...
