Currently, despite the availability of high-tech examination methods and effective antimicrobial agents, there is an increase in the number of patients with a severe course and an unfavorable prognosis of community-acquired pneumonia (VP). Thus, according to the pathological service of the adult network of medical institutions in Moscow, in recent years, VP has been the cause of death in almost 10% of cases. Such a high frequency of the complicated course of VP is due to such factors as the age of patients, their comorbidity, late diagnosis and erroneous therapy at the outpatient stage, etc.
