This is the first book dedicated to the life, work and tragic fate of Alexander Shumsky (1890-1946). A former socialist revolutionary, later leader of the Borotbist party, and then a member of the Bolshevik party, People's Commissar of Education in 1919 and 1924-1927, he remained a Ukrainian patriot, often went "against the tide" of official politics. No wonder the communist regime quite early made him, according to the definition of a contemporary, a "inhumane": first condemned O. Shumsky to a ten-year exile, and then brutally killed him. The publication contains unique documents of the communist special services, as well as other archival never printed sources.
