The book describes in detail the history of the life and work of the breeder Franz San Galli (1824-1908), his family and the history of his enterprise, which changed its profile in the Soviet period, but continued the traditions laid down by the founder of the plant. A separate chapter is devoted to the households of F. K., San Galli, including his mansion on Ligovsky Prospekt and the colony on Petrovsky Island.
