The history of the use of building and architectural and artistic ceramics is considered. A brief overview of the state and prospects for the production of effective wall and face bricks, ceramic stones and blocks, tiles for floors and cladding, tiles and sanitary products is given. Recommendations are given for the most rational use in modern construction practice. Creative tasks are formulated, the solution of which will allow ceramics to continue to occupy a prominent place in the architect's palette.
