"History of the settlement in Plymouth" - W. Bradford wrote his book in 1630-1650. It was first published only many years later, in 1856. It is written quite dryly, reflecting only some of the facts that occupied the author the most. The origins of racism are visible - the destruction of the Indians, whom the settlers considered not people, but "part of the flora and fauna..."
