The second edition of the collective monograph sets out the history of diplomacy from ancient times to the 70s. XX century The publication has the character of a condensed general essay on diplomatic history, accessible to a wide readership. When preparing the second edition of the History of Diplomacy, new studies and publications of sources were taken into account, certain inaccuracies were corrected, some sections were supplemented. At the same time, the task was set to overcome, if possible, the certain one-sidedness of the first edition, which paid attention mainly to European countries. To this end, additional materials on the history of diplomacy in Asia, especially in China and India, are included. The presentation of the history of US diplomacy has been significantly expanded.

Второе издание коллективной монографии излагает историю дипломатии от древних времен до 70-х гг. XX в. Издание имеет характер сжатого общего очерка дипломатической истории, доступного широким читательским кругам. При подготовке второго издания »Истории дипломатии» учтены новые исследования и публикации источников, исправлены отдельные неточности, некоторые разделы дополнены. Вместе с тем ставилась задача по возможности преодолеть известную односторонность первого издания, уделявшего внимание по преимуществу странам Европы. С этой целью включены дополнительные материалы по истории дипломатии в Азии, особенно в Китае и Индии. Существенно расширено изложение истории дипломатии США.
A segunda edição da monografia coletiva apresenta a história da diplomacia desde os tempos antigos até os anos 70. A segunda edição da «História da Diplomacia» levou em conta novos estudos e publicações de fontes, corrigindo imprecisões individuais, e algumas seções foram complementadas. No entanto, o desafio era superar, na medida do possível, a conhecida unilateralidade da primeira edição, que se concentrava na vantagem dos países da Europa. Lors de la préparation de la deuxième édition de l'Histoire de la diplomatie, de nouvelles recherches et publications de sources ont été prises en compte, certaines inexactitudes ont été corrigées et certaines sections ont été complétées. Toutefois, l'objectif était de surmonter autant que possible l'unilatéralisme connu de la première édition, qui accordait une attention particulière aux pays européens. À cette fin, des documents supplémentaires sur l'histoire de la diplomatie en Asie, en particulier en Chine et en Inde, sont inclus. En la preparación de la segunda edición de la Historia de la diplomacia se han tenido en cuenta los nuevos estudios y publicaciones de las fuentes, se han corregido algunas inexactitudes y se han añadido algunas secciones. Die Ausgabe hat den Charakter einer komprimierten allgemeinen Skizze der diplomatischen Geschichte, die breiten Leserkreisen zugänglich ist. Bei der Vorbereitung der zweiten Ausgabe der „Geschichte der Diplomatie“ wurden neue Studien und Veröffentlichungen von Quellen berücksichtigt, einzelne Ungenauigkeiten korrigiert und einige Abschnitte ergänzt. Gleichzeitig wurde die Aufgabe gestellt, die bekannte Einseitigkeit der ersten Ausgabe, die hauptsächlich den Ländern Europas Aufmerksamkeit schenkte, nach Möglichkeit zu überwinden. Zu diesem Zweck sind zusätzliche Materialien zur Geschichte der Diplomatie in Asien, insbesondere in China und Indien, enthalten.
