Part 1 of the monograph presents a literary analysis of flower symbols of foreign poetry and, mainly, archetypal collective flora images of the Male and Female as two poles of the novel in its mythological and historical dimensions. At the same time, approaches are being developed to the study of the formative motive "bet," which is the through essential core of the novel from antiquity to the present: in the East, in the West and in Russia.
